WHO NEEDS A TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT?
There are several different treatment options for knee arthritis. Each patient is unique and some will respond to certain treatments better than others. It is usually best to begin with the most conservative treatments.
Sometimes conservative treatments for arthritis pain stop being effective and simple activities such as walking or climbing stairs become difficult or impossible. If this is the case, total knee replacement may be an option.
A total knee replacement is also known as a total knee arthroplasty. It involves removing the damaged portion of the knee and capping the bony surfaces with man-made prosthetic implants.
Although total knee replacements provide excellent results and patient satisfaction, they are typically reserved for patients who have exhausted all other options.
IS A SAME DAY PROCEDURE RIGHT FOR YOU?
